The AIRBATT capacity meter enables the display of voltage (V), current (A), power (W), electrical charge (Ah), and energy (Wh).
Consumption measurement of Ah in a glider
The capacitance meter is connected between the on-board battery and the aircraft consumers. After pressing the zero button, the consumed energy is displayed in Ah.
Capacity test of glider batteries
The tester is connected between the battery to be tested and a consumer in the direction of the arrow.
The consumer should be 1/20 of the nominal capacity (10Ah battery - 0.5A consumer). Suitable loads are incandescent or halogen lamps from the automotive or domestic sector.
After the battery has been fully charged, it can be discharged once to 10.5 volts and the tester displays the used Ah of the battery.
This device should not be missing at any workshop manager to test the aircraft batteries once a year for capacity.
